ICE Samba Knitting Yarn is a ribbon yarn that can be used to make ruffled edgings and trims quickly and easily. It can also be used as a scarf yarn to make a very trendy ruffled scarf.
To use this beautiful yarn to make a scarf, for example, simply thread the yarn onto the knitting needle by putting the needle through every (or every other) hole in the upper edge of the yarn. That is your cast on. All other rows for a scarf will be knit in garter (knit every row). Keep knitting until you have the length you desire for your scarf, then cast off in the usual manner. See the picture at right for an example of what a scarf looks like using Samba Knitting Yarn.
In order to add Samba as an edging or ruffle to a finished project, pick up stitches on the edge of your work with your knitting needle. Starting at a corner, take Samba Yarn and with wrong side of your work facing you, work a single row of knitting by knitting into the holes of the upper edge of the ribbon yarn. You can add rows if you want your ruffle to be more “ruffly”!
